TestBash Brighton 2020: Our Biggest TestBash Yet!
TestBash Brighton is back, bigger than ever and crammed full of learning opportunities for testers at every level. From Monday 23rd to Friday 27th March 2020, it’s going to be a bonanza week. You’ll need to move quickly because the tickets are going to fly out!

The Dojo

A spine-tinglingly awesome course from Alan Page; “Introduction to Modern Testing”.
In this course, you’ll learn why we saw a need for Modern Testing (and why we called it Modern Testing), and why we think it’s important. Then, we’ll dive into each principle, and share the thoughts and foundation behind the principle; share examples of the principle in action, and guidance on how to apply each principle in your team or organization.

A fa-boo-lous course from Lim Sim; “Introduction to Linux Commands for Beginners”. This 11-part course will take you through how to access the Linux command line all the way to logging onto a server and running some useful commands a tester may use on a daily basis.

A few fang-tastic articles in The Testing Planet 2019

  • From Strategy To Execution In A Lean And Effective Way by Doron Bar. Working in agile mode is not working fast, it is working smart and efficiently. It means using the minimum needed planning, documents, and tools. Sometimes “Agile” is used as an excuse for chaos, which is not the intent.
  • Software Testing Heuristics: Mind The Gap! By Richard Bradshaw and Sarah Deery. As with all testing methods and techniques, a deep understanding of what they are, when to apply them, and of their strengths and weaknesses, are essential to be able to use them effectively. Heuristics are no different.

November Online Events

Masterclass: [E] Building a World Class QA team with Chris Thacker
Chris’s team is on a journey to build a world-class product engineering hub at a major e-commerce site, as part of that they are building a world-class QA Team. That’s hard enough without being spread over 3 sites and the need to recruit, retain and grow QA’s. All whilst developing processes and investigating tools to allow them to do their jobs effectively, meaning they help the business deliver on its strategy. As part of this Masterclass, on the 12th November at 8pm UK time, you will follow the journey Chris and his team have taken over the last 2 years.
